Pastor Kirby felt God call him to the ministry as a teenager while at a church camp.  Following high school, he attended what is now Taylor University Fort Wayne Campus in Fort Wayne, IN.  He then served as a youth pastor for a year after which time he resigned to attend Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York.  After completing a Master in Divinity, he was the assistant pastor in Corning, New York for 3 1/2 years.  He left that position to move to Charleston, West Virginia to pastor what is now Great Commission Fellowship for 10 years.  In April, 2000, he assumed the responsibility of pastor of Beaver Alliance Church.  Pastor Kirby is involved in the community by serving on the board of The Tower of Hope crices pregnancy center, is the president of the board for the Adoption Connection adoption agency, participates in the local Beaver ministerium, and lifeguards at the YMCA for fun.

His wife, Edie, gave her heart to Christ when she was a child while attending a church camp.  Later she felt God call her into ministry.  Following high school, she attended and graduated from Nyack College.  For 12 years she ministered on staff with Bible Club Movement as a children's Bible class and club teacher in New York and Indiana.

Pastor Kirby and Edie were married in 1988 and have one daughter, Amy, who was born in 1995.
